Actually I don't recall your line as I would mix up posts by Michael Shannons. I thought the Michael is Houston was descended from Thomas and Eigness and that you were from the local Texas bunch but not sure further back (Joseph in Arkansas?) I wish both of you would do the dna to help sort things out. In any case, at least one of the Texas Shannon's was famous in the civil war. Was that David C.? If he was in the civil war then a widow might have made application for a pension which is recorded and that would give you year of death. Kelly
